Soooo...what's a hernia feel like?
I’m tellin’ ya, it’s a good thing I have such a wonderful life to keep me smiling because the way my body is breaking down is some kinda something.
I think I got a hernia this weekend. I’ve got a doctor’s appointment later today to figure it out. What. The. Hell. Just like my torn ACL last May, I felt no major pain to indicate an injury happening, but I woke up Sunday morning with a fun swollen area on my lower abdomen that’s kinda painful to the touch, and kinda nausea-inducing when I poke it. Either a hernia or swollen lymph nodes, I’m thinking, being the medical expert that I am.
So that’s the super fun almost-forty year old stuff going on here. I don’t feel old for my age but my body sure does.
In other, life is actually wonderful news, I’m pumped for this weekend’s songwriters revue with Jakeb Daniel and Graven. There are still tickets available but it’s starting to fill up so I wouldn’t wait to buy at the door if you’re planning to come.
After this show I’m turning my focus to finalizing plans for my first songwriting workshop. I am very excited to combine my love of teaching with my love of songwriting, not sure why I didn’t think of it sooner!
So as you can see, despite my decrepit and crumbling state, life is still very lovely. I did release an album called In Spite of Everything, after all, so I guess the universe wants me to really live into that. And live into it I shall, busted knee and lumpy abdomen and all!
Hope you get out and have a wonderful day even if you’re feeling like a broken-down jalopy.
