This resonates with me big time as I have had a slew of new health issues in the past 2 years... both injuries (including a ridiculous, mysterious tailbone injury and debilitating headaches) and systemic junk (Hashimoto's is the headliner with other hormonal BS). Makes you feel like "what the heck was all that organic food, sunscreen, and exercise for???". Feels like these things are snowballing at times. Doesn't sound like you are looking for advice-- but I will say I'm a little buoyed when I can compassionately say to myself "self, you feel bad because you are in pain" which is to say, my usual can-do attitude is not really possible when resources are going towards tolerating a physical pain so at least mentally I can be less disappointed in myself. Bravo for sticking with physical therapy and activity through all this!!! Sounds like you've earned at least a little bitching and moaning. (And we should totally zoom co-write sometime!)

Honestly, I feel this post so much, and understand the frustration you are feeling with, well, stuff. So, I won’t give you a pep talk, or roll out a bunch of “feel better” phrases. Frankly, because sometimes I find I need to wallow, even if it’s just for a little bit... I think giving yourself the space to do that can be a gift and help you move on and through things.
That said, I am a sending you an extra smile this week and hoping next week is a better one and kinder to you.
I can well understand how discouraging you feel, particularly as a relatively young and strong human. Being an almost 80 year old, I mostly accustomed to diminishing abilities(altho it still passes me off).
You're gonna get back to a better place, my friend. Your strengths are many in mind and body.
You are, we are, all entitled to not always upholding that stiff upper lip, no matter the pain. I cheer for you and hope these aches and pains and body issues will start getting sorted out, one by one, so all your Joy is back undisturbed. If you ever have a desire to go for a quick walk in our neighbourhood, let me know! I'm busy but mostly around (the corner from you), and my time is flexible ❤️
Well, that's a lot to handle! No wonder you're down. My body isn't cooperating either, despite my attempts to change things. Maybe it's an aging thing? My tai chi teacher once gave a workshop on self-massage as he believes that before our muscles can heal, they need the knots massaged away. Now and then I do it when something is an issue. Seems to help. In the meantime, signing up to do something less strenuous with your teams sounds like a good plan.
Well folks, the amount of comments, emails and texts I received in support have brought me to tears. You're all so wonderful and I appreciate every message. What a glorious group of humans you are!

You’ve got this. But you’re entirely entitled to a good moan session, it’s hard work and you deserve a break!

Debbie Downer has every right to her moans and groans. Sending you lots of love, Shannon! Xoxo
